Impersonating, Threatening NYPD Nets Large Fine

On April 14, the full Commission issued a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture in the amount of $404,166 against a Jay Peralta for transmitting on NYPD frequencies, including sending out false distress calls. Mr. Peralta admitted to making the transmissions and has been also charged by NYPD with, among other offenses, reckless endangerment, robbery, criminal impersonation of a police officer, and false reporting of an incident.
