EWA Comments on Regulatory Fees

On June 22, 2017, the Enterprise Wireless Alliance filed comments in response to a Federal Communications Commission Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that sought comments regarding proposed regulatory fees for fiscal year 2017. EWA supported the FCC recommendation to raise the de minimus regulatory fee threshold from $500 to $1,000. EWA further noted that the non-public safety private land mobile radio user community requires scant regulatory oversight and has not received any significant regulatory benefit that would justify the current regulatory fee structure. For this reason, EWA recommended that the PLMR Service fee categories be eliminated.
