EWA Files Comments on Washington County Waiver Request

Publication Date:

On June 9, 2017, the Enterprise Wireless Alliance filed comments asserting that Washington County, Oregon has not met the fundamental criteria for relief in its Request for Waiver which seeks access to two 800 MHz Business/Industrial Land Transpiration (B/ILT) Pool frequencies as part of a planned upgrade from analog to digital technology and expansion of its Project 25 system. EWA has investigated the matter and discovered ample Public Safety (PS) Pool spectrum available to meet the needs of this project. Further, in its comments, EWA noted that cross-pool access to spectrum should be more equal than it has been in recent years, as illustrated by the case of American Electric Power.
