Ex Parte Letter on Meeting Regarding Incumbent Access to 800 MHz Expansion Band and Guard Band

On October 19, 2016, Enterprise Wireless Alliance President Mark Crosby and Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs and Spectrum Strategies Robin Cohen met with staff of the Federal Communications Commission Wireless Telecommunications Bureau to discuss EWA's support for more extensive incumbent access to 800 MHz Expansion Band and Guard Band than is proposed in the FCC Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on this subject. During the meeting, EWA expressed concern that the volume of applications for new Specialized Mobile Radio (SMR) systems likely to be filed will result in "gridlock" that would leave this spectrum unassigned for an extended period.
