EWA Ex Parte Seeks Correction of TV Station Coordinates

EWA submitted a letter to the Media Bureau in response to the draft Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that proposes changes to Part 73 of the FCC rules regarding broadcast television’s transition from analog to digital operations. Specifically in response to the FCC’s intent to update the current city center coordinates referenced in FCC Rule Section 73.623(e), EWA requested that the Media Bureau update Part 73 of the rules to correct the longitude for the Miami, Florida market to be consistent with the longitude referenced in Part 90 of the rules, as the two rule sections “should be mirror images to avoid any future issues” with land mobile protection criteria.
