On January 27, EWA joined APCO International, AT&T Services, Comsearch, the Edison Electric Institute, the Fixed Wireless Communications Coalition, the Utilities Technology Council, and Verizon in the attached ex parte letter seeking a clarification of the Public Notice released by the Office of Engineering and Technology which conditionally approved thirteen (13) entities to operate automated frequency coordination (AFC) systems to manage access to 6 GHz band spectrum by standard-power unlicensed devices. Specifically, the joint filing seeks to ensure that the Public Notice does not override industry consensus standards developed by the Wireless Innovation Forum, which include propagation model parameters. The standards were created over a period of many months, at the urging of the Federal Communications Commission, and which “all stakeholders believed were acceptable taken as a whole.”
