The Enterprise Wireless Alliance (EWA) is pleased to announce that Adam Wang, a student at Old Dominion University (ODU), Norfolk, Virginia will receive the EWA-Joseph B. Vestal Endowed Scholarship for the 2024 Spring Semester. This scholarship was created in 2013 to recognize and honor the contributions of Joseph Vestal who was instrumental in developing the rules and many of the operational characteristics of private wireless systems both private and commercial that are followed today. Mr. Vestal served in leadership positions at both the American Mobile Telecommunication Association and the Enterprise Wireless Alliance. The scholarship awards financial aid to a full-time student at ODU enrolled in Electrical Engineering Technology or Information Systems Management who intends to pursue a professional career in wireless applications or telecommunications.
Mr. Wang is presently a senior majoring in information technology and systems. In his note of appreciation, Mr. Wang stated that it is his “intention to use these funds to further my education by enrolling in a master’s program for informational technology after I graduate from Old Dominion University. Thank you again for choosing me for this incredible opportunity and I hope one day I will be able to give back and help others like you have helped me.” Mr. Vestal would have been pleased.
Scholarship funds are raised through individual and corporate donations. Learn more about the scholarship at EWA’s website.
