The Enterprise Wireless Alliance and Anterix, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATEX) have executed an agreement enabling EWA to formally assist in the process of facilitating 900 MHz incumbent transition services on behalf of Anterix. In this capacity, EWA will engage with 900 MHz incumbents to reconfigure authorized spectrum assignments to conform with the anticipated band reconfiguration to be adopted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) pursuant to FCC Docket No. 17-200.
EWA is a recognized advocate for introducing advanced technologies in legacy land mobile radio bands that benefit business enterprise licensees, the wireless communication service organizations and technology vendors that serve the land mobile industry. As such, EWA, jointly with Anterix (formerly pdvWireless), originally proposed to realign the 900 MHz band to permit the deployment of broadband networks, technologies and solutions, while retaining critical portions of the band for narrowband systems. “We look forward to working with incumbent 900 MHz licensees in this process, and encourage entities to contact us should they have any questions or concerns associated with their unique 900 MHz spectrum authorizations and reconfiguration alternatives”, stated Mark Crosby, EWA President.
EWA is an FCC-certified frequency advisory committee that provides license preparation, spectrum management and associated services to business enterprises, private carriers, public safety entities and wireless sales and service organizations. Membership within EWA is open to users of wireless communications systems, vendors, system operators and service organizations. Additional information about membership and services is available at www.enterprisewireless.org.
