CWA Chair Ken Notter stated that “the decision to organize the Canadian Wireless Alliance (CWA) has been discussed for some time, so the official announcement of the creation of CWA is exciting and will benefit the overall Canadian Private wireless industry. Motorola Solutions Canada looks forward to participating in this new organization and we will be encouraging our reseller channel partners in Canada to follow us in this endeavor.”
Robert Harvey, President JVCKENWOOD Canada added that he is “proud to announce its collaboration with fellow industry vendors and the Enterprise Wireless Alliance (EWA) in the establishment of the Canadian Wireless Alliance (CWA). Building on the EWA’s longstanding commitment to representing the wireless communications industry in the United States, we look forward to working closely with them to shape telecommunications policy and improve spectrum access across Canada. The creation of the CWA marks a significant and much-needed step forward for the Canadian market. We believe this new organization will play a vital role in advocating for the interests of wireless users nationwide and advancing strategic initiatives that support innovation and growth within the industry.”
EWA President/CEO Robin Cohen noted that “in 2024, several major vendors approached EWA inquiring about collaborating with Canadian wireless interests. While we recognize that Canadian telecom policy and spectrum access differs from the United States, this opportunity to partner with leading Canadian wireless organizations represents a meaningful, strategic opportunity for EWA. We look forward to working with the Canadian private wireless industry.”
