EWA filed an ex parte letter today at the FCC after Chairman Carr announced that the Commission expects to adopt a Report and Order (R&O) at its February meeting expanding the 900 MHz broadband opportunity for utilities and other critical infrastructure users.
An early proponent of rule changes to make the original 3/3 megahertz 900 MHz broadband opportunity available for enterprise entities, EWA continues to encourage the land mobile community to embrace advanced technologies that improve spectrum efficiency and licensee capabilities.
EWA’s letter emphasizes the importance of striking the right balance between “protecting the rights of incumbents while promoting broadband access for all critical industries,” in order to maximize the effects of this “forward-thinking decision.”
EWA looks forward to reviewing the draft Order upon release and is confident it will align with the Chairman’s commitment to ensuring effective spectrum management.
